Opinion: Animal shelter

I read with interest the article in June 27's paper on page C3 entitled "Animal shelter hosts open house, festival," being very excited about the tiny sentence in the second paragraph of the tiny article that said, "Stray Hearts has reached an agreement with Taos Pueblo to manage its stray animals in the same way as it currently supports the town of Taos and Taos County," according to a shelter statement.

That is a big, big deal for those living on the pueblo, as well as tourists walking around it.

I would like to ask the current shelter manager to please write a larger article about what that agreement is about, and how the people of the pueblo can get help with their stray animal problem.

Thank you for this long overdue agreement.
