Albuquerque congresswoman pushes for land grant funding

U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham introduced a bill to Congress that would open up conservation funding for New Mexico's land grants.

Lujan Grisham, a Democrat who represents the central portion of New Mexico and is the front-runner in the 2018 primary race for governor, introduced the Land Grants-Mercedes Conservation Program Eligibility Act, or H.R. 4688, as an addition to the Farm Bill so "land grants will be able to enhance conservation practices on their common lands," she said via a Wednesday (Dec. 20) press release.
