Opinion: Airport: please don't start construction at 6 a.m.

There has been construction work going on at the east end of the East/West Taos Regional Airport runway and I have two concerns: 1. What the heck are they doing; and 2. Someone should tell the manager or foreman that the starting time for work is 8 a.m. and not 6 a.m. as was the case today Friday (Aug. 9).

We who live out here near the airport were not given any notice at all of the work. We don't know what is going on or how long it will last.

Starting work at 6 a.m. is both inconsiderate and rude.

I wonder if they are trying to use up the $650,000 that was given to the airport for flights that have been canceled for the summer? I have heard a rumor that a casino was to be built out there some day.
