Unimpeded, Selina Bayles prepares to blast a penalty shot into the net at the 33-minute mark in the second half of the opening game of the Sangre de Cristo Classic soccer tournament at Taos Eco Park Aug. 24. The goal was the second of four earned by the Lady Tigers in their shutout of the visiting Bernalillo Lady Spartans. Other teams attending the annual tourney included Navajo Prep (Farmington), East Mountain (Sandia Park), Robertson (Las Vegas), Bosque (Albuquerque), Clovis and Kirtland Central. Taos would finish 1-0-1 in the tournament, with the tie coming from their second game against Navajo Prep.
