The Taos Tigers hit the pitch against the Capital High School Jaguars Saturday (Sept. 7) for their fifth game of the season.

Despite the Tigers' efforts, the Jaguars handed them their first loss of the season with a 4-1 score.

The Jaguars led the second half of the game and took control in the later portions of the half. The Jaguars scored their second goal after 73 minutes, putting them up 2-1. With just three minutes left to play, the Tigers allowed two consecutive goals from the Jaguars, solidifying their 4-1 victory.

Despite the barrage of goals in the second half, goalkeeper Milo Collignon held the Tigers final defense as he stopped several crucial Jaguar shots throughout the game.

A lightning beacon at the field stopped the game before stoppage time was played.

The Tigers travel to Bernalillo on Tuesday (Sept. 10) after this section goes to press. Then they prepare to host their next challenge against Monte del Sol Charter school at 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept.14) at Eco Park. They play Santa Fe High School at home Tuesday (Sept. 17) and travel to St. Michael's High School for Thursday (Sept. 19).
