Angel Fire Skate Festival clinics final weekend
The Angel Fire skate clinic, hosted by the Overground Project at Liberty Square Park, will return this Saturday (Aug. 2) for its final weekend, featuring skateable structures from the Angel Fire Skate Festival.
The clinic employed experienced skaters, such as Sean Carpentier, Natalie Oaks and Oliver Bradley, to teach both beginners and experienced skaters. The clinic does not require prior registration; however, a waiver must be signed before participation. Waivers will be available on-site.Â

Up & Over Weekend
This weekend (Aug. 2-3), Taos Ski Valley Inc. is hosting the 19th annual Up & Over 10K from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m.
The notorious trail run consists of a scenic 2,600-foot climb, from 9,300 feet at base camp and 11,800 feet at the top. Kachina and Wheeler Peaks are on perfect display at their highest point, and a descent follows right after. Bringing friends, family and co-workers is recommended.Â
Vertic-AL’s Vert-K third annual event will be Sunday (Aug. 3) from 9:30 a.m. through noon, located under Lift 1. Al’s Run is a steep and intimidating black diamond ski run whose intimidation factor stays relevant during the summer.
In this race, participants will trek up from the base to the finish at the top of the ski slope, a nearly 1,500-foot climb to the line. Due to the difficulty of the run, the Vertic-Al’s Vert-K event is only reserved for runners 16 years or older.
For the young ones, the Up & Dn Kids 1K is the classic Up & Over 10K Run but miniaturized on Sunday from 9 a.m. through 9:30 a.m. for children under 10. Half of all proceeds from this event will benefit the Enchanted Circles Trail Association, a nonprofit helping the U.S. Forest Service maintain trails in the surrounding area.
