The Peñasco Panthers and the Taos Tigers participated in the 2022 Rio Rancho Jamboree held at Rio Rancho’s cross country course on Saturday (Sept. 17). Sixty-seven teams in total competed in the large running rally, which featured different tiers of competition — ranging from middle school to varsity, and at the highest level, the championship flight.

The Peñasco athletes and the Taos girls ran in the championship flight. The Taos boys had fair results in the varsity division. The Tigers top performers were Judah Daffon, Billy Romero, Elaina Cisneros and Jacqueline Limas. Daffron (18:07.80) had a top three finish in the varsity boys category. Romero (19:26.0) as an 8th-grader competing against varsity runners came in 13th place. Cisneros (21:56.20) and Limas (23:17.10) finished 21st and 42nd respectively in the championship girls category.
