Died peacefully at her Santa Fe home on October 18, 2021.  Born number 7 of 8 children to Joseph O. and Lillian S. Whiteley in York, Pennsylvania, she is survived by her sister Lillian Morch of Belleville, Ontario, 36 nieces and nephews, and partner Judy Rhymes. She attended The Ethel Walker School and graduated from Bennington College with a degree in music composition and conducting.

Founded in 1963, the Taos School of Music has celebrated chamber music with its live summer festival for the past six decades. This year, the school is offering audiences a Chamber Music Festival from June 20 through Aug. 8. The concerts will be recorded live at the Taos Ski Valley Village and will be broadcast a week later through the school's website, taosschoolofmusic.com. The broadcasts are available for 30-day online viewing through the purchase of on-demand tickets. Ticket holders are also able to attend the live concerts.

Each year, the Taos School of Music invites a select group of 19 young master musicians to engage in a summer of in-depth learning under the tutelage of highly skilled chamber music faculty. The school also offers a musical festival comprised of a series of live concerts by its young masters and faculty.

The Taos School of Music first opened its doors to young chamber musicians in 1963. Throughout its long history, the school has never had to cancel its world-renowned summer program, held in the beautiful Taos Ski Valley.
