Thursday, Oct. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Stables Gallery at the Taos Center for the Arts, 133 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, there is an opening exhibit of art from the private collection of Günther Nachtrab the owner of Atelier 751, a contemporary art gallery opened during the 90s. The exhibit includes prints from artists with a Taos connection, national and international artists. A percentage of all sales from this exhibit will be donated to the Taos Center for the Arts.

A creative, colorful, adventurous life came to an end when Dr. Ed Kollar passed at the Taos Living Center August 29, 2021.  What a total force of life he was, so packed full of incredible talent and enthusiasm. Born November 8, 1936, to immigrants from Czechoslovakia and Italy, Edward Kollar, Sr. and Mary Margaret Portia Lena Cesare, he grew up in Ohio.

There are a few artists who live and work on the south side of Taos who were zipping around town to a few locations this weekend for the Taos Fall Arts Festival. Sculptor artist T.J. Mabrey was one of them.

203 Fine Art is currently showing a group of newly acquired Larry Bell Fractions. One of the most renowned and influential artists to emerge from the Los Angeles art scene of the 1960s, alongside contemporaries including Ed Ruscha, Bell had an international reputation by the age of 30, even earning inclusion on the cover of the Beatle's iconic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Arte de Descartes 21st annual juried recycled arts show opens at the Stables Gallery this Saturday (Aug. 28) from 4-8 p.m.

The show represents work made from a wide variety of materials: discarded metal, scraps of wood, cloth, glass, plastic, paper and more. Many of the artists have decades of experience and have developed signature styles.
