Taos reached an unfortunate milestone yesterday (Dec. 15), as the county topped 1,000 positive COVID cases since the pandemic began. The county total is currently 1,005.

At the same time, the state reached over 2,000 deaths, with a total of 2,006. These grim numbers also come on the heels of nationwide news of deaths topping 300,000.
