A resident of El Valle, NM passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, October 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Naomi; and his parents Elizardo and Filomena Mascareñas. Clarence is survived by his children Bobbie Mascareñas, David Romero (Atira), Margie Romero and Cindy Jackson (Peter); granddaughters Lyndsay Flowers (David Towne) and Kaleigh Flowers; great-grandchildren Haley Flowers, Dylan and Noah Towne; his sister Ruth Ortega (Demetro) and many nieces and nephews. Clarence worked alongside his father as a young boy logging trees and tending to cattle in the high mountains of Taos County.
Age 78, a resident of Taos, formerly of Las Vegas NM, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Jean Salazar; parents, Aurelio and Marcella Salazar; ½ brother and sister, Joe and Helen Salazar; sister Irene Cruz, brother, Robert Salazar; and in-laws, Ted and Alice Martinez. Aurelio proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Age 86, a resident of Llano Quemado, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Fidel E. & Beatrice Medina; siblings Aurora Fernandez, Elsie Maez, Benito Medina, Frank Medina, Juanita Gonzales; in-laws Abenicio & Emilia Romero and special nephew Michael Medina. Fidel proudly served and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years.
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Peacefully passed away on August 10th, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born to Harry and Jeanette Monroe on March 3rd, 1942 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school, she joined the Army and traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Age 22, a resident of Questa passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Audrey Salazar; great-grandmother Alice Martinez; and great-grandfather Telesfor Martinez. Ernestina is survived by her mother Melissa Martinez; brother Joshua Martinez; aunts and uncles Jayne Martinez, Stanley Martinez, James Martinez, Paul Martinez, Irene Salazar, Miguel Salazar, Angelica & Marc Johnson, Mario & Alexandra Martinez, Lawrence Martinez, Vincent Martinez, and numerous cousins, relatives and friends. Rosary was recited Saturday July 31, 2021 at 7:00pm at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Questa.
Passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021, surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Taos, New Mexico on July 10, 1925 to the late Floyd and Daphne Santistevan. Her mother and grandmother were school teachers so depending on where they were teaching, was where Helen attended school.
