Taos has always attracted free-spirited, creative, independent thinkers, eclectic personalities and lovers of art and nature. Lois Fernández, owner and director of the Taos Artist Collective, fits each of these descriptions. Originally from the East Coast, she spent time working in Manhattan's Garment District with the likes of Bill Blass, Diane von Furstenberg, and Oscar de la Renta.

Farmers and ranchers, especially those who utilize New Mexico's acequias, are invited to apply for the 2021 Infrastructure Grant Program. The grants are available to producers to help with improving the economic viability of agriculture operations, increase soil and ecosystem health, expanding access to healthy and cultural food for families, and supporting young farmers and ranchers.

The grants were developed by the New Mexico Farmers' Marketing Association and the New Mexico Acequia Association. Eight farmers from across the state advised the two nonprofits on how to structure the grant program.
