Reinforcements arrived to help crews fight the Medio Fire north of Santa Fe, as firefighters cleared foliage and cut low limbs on Sunday (Aug. 23) in an attempt to stop the blaze from spreading into populated areas.The fire has burned at least 2,300 acres in the hills east of Tesuque, although fire officials said it likely grew in size since Saturday night, when they last released an updated figure.
Update: Sunday, 8 p.m. The two people who died in the plane crash Sunday morning at Angel Fire Airport have been identified as pilot Richard Joseph Schenk, 65, and Anne Schenk of Great Bend, Kansas, according to officials. Schenk was a commercial pilot, according to a post on the Angel Fire Fire Department Facebook page.
