Taos Ski Valley announced another restriction to the mountain today as they restricted their Taos Air operations. Beginning in 2018 Taos Air has provided flights from several regional areas in the southwest, offering flights from Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, and Austin directly to the Taos Regional Airport.
Taos Ski Valley Mayor Christof Brownell is discouraging visitors from coming to the village of Taos Ski Valley to help slow the spread of COVID-19. In an executive order signed Friday (March 27), the village is asking visitors not to enter the valley until the end of the emergency. In addition, Brownell has ordered all nonmedical businesses to close for the time being.
Taos Air welcomed its first California flights Thursday (Jan. 9) into Taos Regional Airport. Community members and government officials gathered for a celebration of the airline's new 2020 flight season as two jets from The Golden State landed at the airport. Passengers were greeted by Taos Ski Valley CEO David Norden and lawmakers from New Mexico.
