Crews deal with water leak on Paseo del Pueblo Sur

Town of Taos Marketing and Tourism Director Karina Armijo said construction outside the McDonald's on Paseo del Pueblo Sur will create extra traffic challenges for drivers this weekend.

Traveling through central Taos should be especially slow-going this weekend.

Both north and southbound traffic through the center of Taos will be limited by road construction from Friday (Oct. 15) through the weekend, according to Town of Taos Marketing and Tourism Director Karina Armijo.

Armijo said one-way traffic is being directed in front of McDonald's, starting from the south entrance of Smith's through the intersection of Camino de la Placitas.

She said drivers should expect "major traffic challenges."

“Please allow for an ample amount of time to get through town. Traffic congestion may continue through the weekend as contractors work on repairing phone lines,” said Armijo. “Thank you for your patience.”
