Today, wildfires rage all around us. We are in an historic drought. In every direction, we see clear signs of a climate crisis which will impact every area of our lives if we do not take swift action.

Rep. Kristina Ortez has shown her ability to confront this crisis head on. Not only has her professional work demonstrated her dedication to the environment, she has proven her leadership on the matter in the Legislature, as well. This year, in only her first term, she was able to champion and pass the CEED Act, which will provide energy efficiency to low-income families and affordable housing across the state. Energy efficiency is a key component in reducing our carbon footprint.

Moreover, Rep. Ortez has demonstrated her commitment to passing bold, comprehensive climate legislation in the next legislative session. Please join me in supporting Kristina Ortez, for our planet.

Kelly Orndorff lives in Taos.
