Pedro M. Pacheco, “Pete”

With his family at his bedside passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 and is now joined in eternal love with his loving wife of sixty-four years Alicia.  Pete was born on September 5, 1929 to Juan B. and Soraida Pacheco in Chamisal, NM. He was one of six siblings, Rosita. Felix, Harriet, Johnny and Reuben.  Like his father before him, Pete was a hardworking man who was devoted to his wife, his family, his community, his country and his faith.  Pete’s love of community can be seen in his involvement and leadership in many community functions to include, Peñasco School Booster Club, St. Anthony’s Parochial School, Finance Committee member for the San Anthony’s Parish, founding father and commander at the American Legion. He was in charge of improving and maintaining the local translator for television service and helped bring cable television to the area. Pete was especially proud of his involvement in the Peñasco Mutual Water Association. As board member and president of the association for over thirty years. Pete said he did this all with a happy heart, knowing he was improving life for the valley. Pete was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Alicia of sixty-four years, grandson Aaron Rodarte, great grandchildren Elizabeth, Jerome and Abigail Rodarte. Parents Juan and Soriada Pacheco, sister Rosita Delgado, and brothers Felix Pacheco and Reuben Fresquez. Pete is survived by his children Michael Pacheco and Carole, Rebecca Chavez and Lee, Peter John Pacheco and Cristina. Sister Harriet Brandstetter, brother Johnny Pacheco. Grandchildren Christina Pacheco, Andrea Pacheco, David Rodarte/ Tanya, Jamie Rodarte, Felicia Klitch/ Tony and Isabella Pacheco. Great grandchildren Lily and Luke Sims, Lauren Pacheco, Tristin Rodarte, Karson and Karlee Klitch and many lifelong friends, primos, nieces and nephews especially Carlos Pacheco. Pete touched so many people and his legacy will live on.
