Paul Anthony Maestas, Sr.

Age 53, a resident of El Prado, passed away unexpectedly September 24, 2021. He was preceded in death by his son Anthony Maestas; maternal grandparents Onofre and Salome Palajo; paternal grandparents Patricio and Genoveva Maestas; uncles Francis Maestas and Frank Palajo; aunt Loyola Parraz. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Marines, later he was employed by Kit Carson Electric Cooperative.  He enjoyed working with wood as a skilled crafter, spending time outdoors and especially loved to cook for his family and friends. He is survived by his son Paul Maestas, Jr. (Carmen), daughter Carley Maestas; grandson Jayden Maestas, and one baby grandson on the way; parents Joe Maestas and Martha Mondragon; sister Barbara Miera (Raymond), nephews Jacobo Miera and RJ Miera, great-nephew Noah Miera; one great-nephew on the way; aunt Fidelia Sanchez, uncle Ernest Maestas (Mary), special cousins Daniel Maestas and John Maestas, plus many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 8, 2021 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Dolores Cemetery.  The family of Paul Anthony Maestas, Sr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  866-657-4019
