Flora Ortega

Flora Ortega

Age 83 left to be with her heavenly father on September 10, 2020.  Flora served her God and saviour as a strong and dedicated Catholic.  She is survived by her husband Noberto Ortega of 61 years. They had an adventurous and loving life together living and working in numerous National Parks.  They raised three children.  Roberta Ortega, Dempsey (Gail) Ortega and Orlando (Yvette) Ortega.  They were blessed with five grandchildren, Daniel, Briahnna, Ariana, Kiana, and Orazio.  Flora is also survived by her brothers and sisters respectively: Gilbert (Belinda) Archuleta, Tony Archuleta, and Steve (Lisa) Archuleta. Sisters are Josie Rivera, Evelyn (Hassan) Barzegar and Carla Glines.  Brother-in-Laws include: Leonardo Ortega (Karen) Carlos Ortega, and Enoch Ortega. When Flora married into the Ortega family, she was adopted by the community of Arroyo Hondo, conversely she adopted Arroyo Hondo.  She became an active member of the church and many community functions.  Flora was known by both the Ortega's and Archuleta's as a constant, a pillar and a rock.  She did not deviate from her stance on issues; hence, was valued, appreciated, and respected by all.  A yes was a yes and a no was a no when making decisions or providing advice to her children, grandchildren, sisters, and brothers. Flora was the consummate culinary artist.  The table was set every time someone would visit.  Flora is preceded in death by her parents Andres and Delfina Archuleta, brother Fabian Archuleta, mother/father in laws Gregorita and Sam Ortega.  Also, her brother in laws, Donaldo (Yoko), Moises (Connie), Sofio (Florence) and Sam (Alma) Ortega.  In the words of the Spanish Existentialist Miguel Ona Muno "a person never dies, until all persons who knew said person also perishes."  She will be missed immensely but life is transitory and all us will face our creator someday.  For Life is a miracle and death a mystery.   May God Bless Her Soul through Eternity.
