Maria Erminia Garcia,

Age 87, a resident of Costilla passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 24, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emiltelio and Ramoncita Salazar; grandson, Paul Garcia; and siblings, Cipriano Salazar, Jesusita Martinez, Clara Arellano, and Antonia Rivera. Maria loved her entire family. She was the heart and soul that kept everyone together.  Maria loved her children and her grandchildren dearly and considered her nephews as her sons. She especially loved living in the beautiful mountains of Costilla. Maria is survived by her husband, Miguel E. Garcia; children, Cathy Gonzalez (Alfonso), Michael Garcia (Leila), Reyma Manzanares (Jesse), and Randy Garcia (Carmen); 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; along with her siblings, Ida Cisneros, Elias Salazar (Avelinda), Emilia Ortiz, and Cecilia Arellano (John); along with many other loving relatives and friends. Private services will be held and burial will take place at the Amalia Cemetery.  The family of Maria Erminia Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. 1-866-657-4019
