Our Beloved Luis Olmedo Medina 74, of Cañon in Taos, passed away Thursday August 18, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Juanita Medina; siblings George, Annabel, Janice, Michael, Georgiana and twin Berlinda; nephews Adelmo, Eli and Mateo Medina, Santiago Mondragon and niece Melissa Medina; aunts Manuelita Aragon, Estrella Robbins; uncles Bonifacio Cruz Medina and Moises Aragon; cousins Mario, Gilda and Ralph Aragon. Luis is survived by his children Michael, Matthew (Gina) and Olivia Medina (Marcus); mother of his children Petralina Medina; grandchildren Carlos, Diego, Arianna, Antonio and Miguel; siblings Cipriano (Teodora), Adelmo, Herman (Karen), Manuel (Theresa), Elizardo, Efren (Sandra), Francis Medina, and Sarah Martinez; he is also survived by his in-laws Sandy Martinez, Karen Medina, Beatrice Miera-Medina, Mark Martinez, Paula Garcia, Julie Medina and Brenda Medina; godchildren Pam Fernandez, Amy Mondragon, Jennifer and Gloria Medina; and many nieces and nephews. Luis was a very talented Mechanic, Crane Operator and self-titled “Jack of all Trades”. He always had something funny to say about everything. He graduated high school in 1967 and enlisted in the NM National Guard in the Summer of 1969, serving 8 plus years. He moved to Albuquerque for a year in which he married Patsy and had his first son Michael, moving back to Taos in 1971.  He began his on/off career of diesel mechanic/driver/crusher operator for the family business. Throughout the years, he worked many jobs from adobe maker to a home builder, to homemade brandy maker.  He spent a lot of time helping anybody that needed a good mechanic. He was always there when he was needed and for that he will always be remembered. Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday September 10, 2022 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with interment to follow at the Nuestra Señora De Dolores Cemetery in Cañon.
