Jeffrey Harper Cottam

Jeffrey Harper Cottam Passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the age of 64. He was born in Taos, New Mexico on August 25, 1955, and was the second son to Brooke and Phoebe Cottam. Jeffrey grew up skiing in his hometown of Taos, where he would later go on to ski race competitively on a national level for the University of New Mexico. He had an immense passion for teaching young people and went on to share his love of skiing by coaching young ski teams from Sandia Peak, Los Alamos and Angel Fire. Jeffrey was known a leader, and a fierce competitor. His love of the outdoors and his athleticism spanned well beyond the slopes as he excelled at many other sports including football, water skiing, golf, mountain climbing, and fishing. Jeffrey was a thrill seeker and had a need for speed. He loved sports cars and had an appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. Jeffrey was as charming as they come, a friend to many, and a true professional in his business dealings. Jeffrey is survived by his older brother, John and wife, Barbara and younger brother, Tim and Barbara; nieces Lyndsay and Taylor; nephews John Ryan, Garrett, Tucker, Bill; and sons Ashley and Decker Cordes. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
