JASON HEALY

The world unexpectedly lost an original.  Jason loved music (playing several instruments), writing, movies, and spending time with his family and friends.  Jason was a lifelong resident of Taos County, except for a short period when he attended Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, where he studied film.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents Kenneth and Mahala Healy and his honorary grandmother and aunt Marcella Martinez and Mary Harvey.  He is survived by his brother, Dylan; his parents Ted and Holly of Arroyo Seco; maternal grandparents Elven and Gayle Harvey; uncle Robert Burkett (Nga) of La Jolla, California (cousins Desa Stoeckinger (Mark), Mark Burkett (Piero), Erik Burkett (Alison); Aunt Dr. Heather Ouellette (cousins Nicole and Gavin); Aunt Daphne Harvey Strader (cousins Clementine and Lily) and best friend, Austin Little.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 9 from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.

The family of Jason Healy has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  866-657-4019 www.devargastaos.com

Dear friends,

My thoughts are with you, sending healing, and peace, and comfort to you all. May Jason's memory be a blessing for all of you.

Jason was one of my media production students at Adams State and became a longtime friend of mine thereafter. He was truly one of a kind, always friendly and thoughtful, and our conversations ranged from art and music to Tolkien's description of orcs. I am deeply saddened to learn of his loss and treasure my memories of our times together.
