Fidel L. Medina

Age 86, a resident of Llano Quemado, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Fidel E. & Beatrice Medina; siblings Aurora Fernandez, Elsie Maez, Benito Medina, Frank Medina, Juanita Gonzales; in-laws Abenicio & Emilia Romero and special nephew Michael Medina. Fidel proudly served and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years.  Soon after he began to work at TG&Y, later, he became the manager of the sporting goods and auto parts department at Wal-Mart. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Hope Medina; children Amy Garcia (Anthony R.), Francella Garcia (Jessie), Fidel Leo Medina Jr., and Anthony C. Medina; grandchildren Maria Garcia (Taneasha), Ryan Garcia, Nathan Garcia, Antonio Ben Garcia (Sonia), Kristianna “Kristi” Garcia; sister Viola Maestas and brother Teodoro Medina (Lucia); special nieces and nephew Erlinda Padilla, Miranda Vargas, Andie Ortega & Fernando Medina, and special friend Erasmo Velasquez; plus many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited on Sunday September 12, 2021 at 6pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday September 13, 2021 at 10am at San Francisco de Asís Catholic Church, burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30pm with full military honors.   The family of Fidel L.
