Eulalia Garcia (Lalie)

Eulalia Garcia (Lalie)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear aunt, Eulalia Garcia (Lalie) as she was known to her family, was born in Questa on November 12, 1917, and passed away peacefully at home on April 4th, 2021 at the age of 103. Eulalia was preceded in death by her parents Repito Garcia and Patrocinia Gomez Garcia; siblings Arcenio (Celina), Flavio (Maria), Eloy (Emelina),  Antonio, Felimon (Odelia), Bersabe (Juan Luis), Emelina (Eloy), Olivama (Juan) and Elsie (Willie). Also preceding her was her beloved niece Lucille whom she raised as her own.  She is survived by her brother Abedon Garcia and sisters-in-law Rose Garcia and Berlinda Trujillo.  Although she never married or had any children of her own, she was essential in raising at least four generations of nieces and nephews.  We were all truly blessed and grateful to have had her in our lives for this incredible length of time.  She was deep in her faith, an example to us all. Lalie was raised in Questa helping her Father and Mother in the farm and orchard. She worked in Red River at Young's Ranch resort as a housekeeper and at the Old Five and Ten and Gamble store in Questa, she then went on to retire from the Questa school’s cafeteria.     The Family would like to thank her care givers, Inez and Melanie both very special to her we would also like to thank the Staff at the Taos Living Center and Home Health Care Special thanks to all who were part of Lalie’s life and shared with her in prayers and tiempos agradecidos:  (Tiotiste Ortega, Mayo Archuleta, Viola Garcia) as well as the many friends and relatives who were part of her life.  A very special and Heartfelt Thank You to Debbie Romero for unselfishly placing her life on hold to care for her aunt till her passing.
