Our beloved mother and grandmother Betty L. Sandoval was called home by our Heavenly Father on April 30, 2023. She is survived by her four children, Yolanda (Andrew) Gonzalez, Elaine Sandoval, David (Vikki) Sandoval and Julian Sandoval and two unbelievably cherished granddaughters, Lori (Tamara) and Julianna, sisters Juanita (Bernabe) Salazar, JoAnn Gonzales, Peggy Trujillo, Loretta Miera, Lisa Trujillo, Carolyn Trujillo, brother Pat Drake, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, God son Christopher, God daughter Ashley, special great niece Sophia, brother-in-law Ernesto Sandoval and sisters-in-law Carol (Armando) Archuleta, Rose (Juan ‘Dude’) Espinosa, and Christine Sandoval. She is preceded in death by her husband Julian H. Sandoval and baby son Mark, father Frank Drake and mother Rose M. Trujillo, brother Daniel Trujillo, brother Michael Trujillo, niece Destiny Trujillo, nephew Jeffrey Gonzales, many other aunts and uncles, special aunt Carol (uncle Joe) Maldonado, brothers-in-law, Carlos Miera, Agapito Gonzales, Orlando (Celia) Sandoval, Isidro (Ruth) Sandoval, Joe Sandoval, sister-in-law Laureana Murillo, too many friends and colleagues and special Millie “Me” dog. Betty was a lifelong educator, who loved kids, working for 30 years teaching K-12, coaching girls high school sports, and sponsoring cheerleading in the Taos Municipal Schools system before retiring. We would like to thank her doctors and specialists over the years for providing excellent care to Mom. Thank you to Dr. Garimella, Dr. Cherian, and special thanks to Dr. Monica Snowden for going above and beyond in caring for Mom (You are family to us). We would also like to thank her primary care physician Dr. Marc Steinberg, the staff at Holy Cross Medical Center (Dr. Bassett, Dr. Ismael, Dr. Villaflor, Anthony, Tasha, Stephanie, Lisa and Melinda), the ambulance air flight team, and the staff at Lovelace Heart Hospital (Amanda, Chelsey, Martin). Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 9:00am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00am at San Francisco de Asís Catholic Church. A meal in Betty's honor will follow at the Llano Quemado Community Center. The family of Betty L.
