86, of Penasco was called home to our Heavenly Father on Friday, January 20, 2023, with his children by his side.  He was born on January 7, 1937, in Embudo, NM to the late Benito and Maria Valdez.  He spent his early life in the Vadito area growing up with 6 sisters and 6 brothers at the family property.  In 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Elvia Lucero.  Octaviano enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954.

His departure was on Monday, January 2nd, 2023. He is survived by wife Gloria Garcia, Son Joshua C. Garcia, Son Erick Garcia - Elizabeth Garcia, (Lula) Mother, two sisters Racheal Hand, and Berlinda Archuleta, four brothers Frank (Melissa) Garcia, Wilfred (Melinda) Garcia, Ernesto (Rekae) Garcia, Edwin Garcia, grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Rod Thomas passed unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his favorite chair at home in Manassa, Colorado on January 19, 2023. “Rod” was born to Jennings and Oneta Jensen Thomas on March 26, 1941 in Alamosa, Colorado. Raised in the San Luis Valley, Rod graduated from Manassa High School in 1959.

of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord on January 9, 2023 in the comfort of his home. He was born December 14, 1940 in Taos, New Mexico to the late Jose "Manuel" and Azucena Valdez. He attended Taos High School where he was very athletic and played many sports. He later attended New Mexico State University, studying mechanical engineering and played football. Ray had a passion for martial arts earning a 5th degree black belt, he studied and taught Shōrin-ryū karate for 35 years in Taos and Albuquerque.

To my Taos family, Many of you met my Mama when she visited me in Taos through the years. So I wanted to take this time to share her passing with you. She is now with Daddy. I am thankful her illness was very short and she passed peacefully with my sisters and brother by her side. We will bury her on my birthday.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Bonnie Beurskens, Ben Farrow, and Allan Farrow (wife Theresa Harper); grandchidren Benjamin Farrow, Camille Farrow, Anna Beurskens, Nic Beurskens, and sister Judith Damron. Hank was born May 28, 1939, in Dallas, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1962.

A lifelong resident of Questa, NM passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2023. Antonio was born on May 28, 1979 to Antonio Cintas, Sr. & Rose Cintas. He graduated from Questa High School in May of 1997. Antonio loved football and played as a young child all through high school, with his dad Antonio Cintas, Sr. as his coach. He had a very big heart and helped those he could, Antonio was a very skilled and hard worker. Antonio is preceded in death by his father Antonio Cintas, Sr.; paternal grandparents Jose & Rose Cintas; his maternal grandparents Albert & Josephine Ortega.

75, of El Prado, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13th. She was a New Yorker through and through, lived in Texas, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and in Taos for 18 years, with Taos her favorite home.

was born March 21, 1932, in Berlin, Germany, to father, August Theodor Holombek and mother, Anna Geborene Sabrowski.  Bergit was the youngest of five siblings:  brothers Alfred and Werner,  sisters Sigrid and Helga, and half-sister Anna (Anita) Sabrowski. Bergit is survived by her sister, Helga Holombek of Berlin, Germany, two sons, Bert (Beth) Holombek of Ovilla, TX, and Raymond (Sharon) Nichols of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren: Preston Nichols, Emily Holombek, and Stephen (Dylana) Holombek.  Bergit also leaves extended family in Germany, nephew Peter, great-nephew Tobin, and niece Marlise Kutschick.

Age 77, of Taos, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023.  Born in Havana, Cuba on June 2, 1945, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, now reunited with his parents, Jose and Blanca, and his brother, Omar.  Jesus immigrated to the United States with his family in 1962 and married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1965. With a new family, he began a career in banking, which led to various assignments including six years working in South America.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jim Romero; son James Romero and daughter Donna Archuleta; infant child Betty Romero; parents Eugenio and Clarita Sena; parents-in-law Virginia T. and Jose de la Cruz Romero; sisters Martha and Eli Gonzales, Virginia and Eloiso Tafoya; Brothers Phill Sena, Clarence Sena, Avelio Sena; Sisters and brothers-in-law Marina Sauzo, Rose Skinner, Feliann Valles, Catherine Romero, Lillian Romero, Teri Daly, Paul Romero, Tony Romero, Dan Daly, and Ralph Skinner; grandson Johnny Martinez Jr.; and nephew Buck Romero.

Age 85 of Talpa, NM passed away on January 7, 2023.  He was born on May 2, 1937 in Talpa, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents Fidel G. and Beatriz Medina; his in-laws Fermin and Sabinita Arguello; three brothers, 4 sisters, and son Michael Lawrence Medina. Teodoro was in the Army National Guard while younger and in 1957, joined the Army and was stationed in Germany.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for Michelle H. Dorsey, 69. Michelle died Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas, Wyoming. She was born Tuesday, May 12, 1953 in Liberal, Kansas the daughter of Jack Howard and Evelyn Margaret (Heintz) Emberton. She touched so many lives with her kind spirit always taking care of the ones who needed it.

Our Special Angel, Christopher Raymond Sanchez, 59, of Taos passed away on January 10, 2023.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Eufelio and Adonelia Sanchez, brothers, Arturo and Gilbert Sanchez and brother in law, Isaac Gonzales Jr.

Passed away peacefully in her sleep in Taos, New Mexico on New Year’s Day, 2023. She was an elegant 84 years old. Ann was born in 1938 in Los Angeles, California to parents McClellan (“Max”) and Dorothy. She met her first husband, John Dwyer, in high school, and they married after graduation.

ALAMOSA, CO - John David Sanford, 88, passed away from natural causes, December 20, 2022, at Homelake Veterans Center, Monte Vista, CO, with family members in attendance. He was born in Fort Worth, TX on April 25, 1934. John, who was known and called by his middle name, David, grew up in Taos, NM where he enjoyed the Taos lifestyle with his family and friends. During those years, Taos was considered the Wild West which suited David extremely well.

Age 81, of San Cristobal passed away on December 17, 2022.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jim was a hardworking outdoorsman who was always quick to teach and give advice to those willing to learn. Although he was a man of few words, every word mattered.

On December 18, 1943, she married Levi Martinez at St Francis Church. They were blessed with four children: Rubina Martinez Quinto, Levi Benito Martinez Jr (+), Diana Martinez Mestas, and Carmelita Martinez.

19 months old, a resident of Taos, gained his angel wings on December 22, 2022. Huck loved spending time outdoors, skiing, playing in the water, and playing with his guitar and recorder.  He loved eating blueberries and watching the movie Coco. Huck loved everyone; he was the happiest kid ever. Huck is survived by his father Ryan Wells De Bue; mother Ashley Summer Hartbauer; grandparents Gary Wells & Marianne De Bue, Dave & Tammi Clancy, and Brad & Marlys Hartbauer; aunts and uncles Danielle De Bue McKenna (Kyle) and Nick Hartbauer (Heather); cousins Harper McKenna and Talon Hartbauer; plus many other loving friends and community of Taos.
