Jan. 29

5 a.m. Loitering, Cervantes Drive – A caller said two men were loitering outside the store and one of them was doing arm curls.

12:27 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Cervantes Drive – A caller said a threat had been made at Taos High School, which was placed on a lockdown. The caller said that a student had made a comment about another student planning to shoot up the school.

2:49 p.m. Trespassing, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said that he thinks his friend is doing heroin and wants her removed from the property.

6:55 p.m. Welfare check, Taos Post Office – A caller said that a homeless man was just hanging out in the post office and looked like he was getting ready to camp.

Jan. 30

5:18 a.m. Traffic accident, private property, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A caller said that a truck driver hit a power pole. The pole was leaning against the truck and looked like it was going to fall.

9:12 a.m. Larceny, Tierra Montosa Apartments – A caller said her chair was stolen from her porch sometime during the night.

9:45 a.m. Warrant, Taos Magistrate Court – A caller needed an officer to serve a warrant on someone in the court.

1:10 p.m. Shoplifting, Smith’s – A caller said that a woman walked out of the store with some liquor bottles.

3:57 p.m. Shoplifting, Bent Street – A caller said that someone just stole some jewelry and wanted to make a report.

Jan. 31

10:35 a.m. Shoplifting, Smith’s – A caller said a man entered the store and stole some laundry detergent.

1:25 p.m. Battery, Pizza Hut – A caller said that an employee had been attacked by another employee, who grabbed him by the throat, slammed him against a table and said, “I’m sick and tired of everyone’s attitude.”

5:24 p.m. Shoplifting, Upper Ojitos Road – A caller said that a man stole something from the store. The caller said they were reviewing the surveillance tape.

Feb. 1

7:35 a.m. Criminal damage, Maestas Road – A caller said that someone had wrecked into a fence on their property and damaged it at some point during the night.

10:40 a.m. Traffic accident, injury, Smith’s – A caller said that an elderly woman had wrecked into one of the pillars in front of the store and was walking around, but appeared to be shaken up.

11:55 a.m. Breaking and entering, Berninghaus Street – A caller said that a woman had tried breaking into his residence about 45 minutes earlier.

Feb. 2

12:22 p.m. Welfare check, Cruz Alta Road – A caller said there were a couple of children in the roadway who appeared to be between 1 and 2 years old.

12:26 p.m. Larceny, Dollar General – A caller said a man and a woman took a basketful of items and took off behind Taos Spa.

6:30 p.m. Animal stray, Camino del Medio – A caller said a neighbor’s dog is very vicious and was trying to attack him. An officer responded and had the neighbor lock the dog up.

10:48 p.m. Shots fired, Herdner Road – A caller said four shots had been fired nearby.

11:09 p.m. Shots fired, Calle Cornelio – A caller said she had heard six shots fired in the area.

Feb. 3

12:59 a.m. Welfare check, Quality Inn – A caller was requesting a ride to Heart of Taos.

7:37 a.m. Burglary commercial, Taos Mesa Taproom – A caller said there had been a break in at the tap room, and that a deadbolt to a door had been broken. A safe had been tampered with but wasn't broken into. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

8:08 a.m. Burglary commercial, Taos Ale House – A caller said that someone had attempted to break into the business.

11:34 a.m. Battery, Paseo del Canon East – A caller said that a man threw a rock and hit him in the head.
