Everyone is invited to participate, talk, observe and learn about amateur radio, AKA, Ham Radio.

According to Dale Finley, a member of the Taos Amateur Radio Club, everyone is welcome to "come explore radio and internet communications using our equipment. Bring your family and enjoy the various methods, modes and means we use to communicate with voice and digital technologies. Kids can talk on 2-way radio in English or even using Tiwa."

The first opportunity is Ham Radio Field Day on Saturday, June 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cimarron Chamber of Commerce, located at 104 N. Lincoln Ave, in Cimarron NM.

Eight days of amateur radio next takes place on the porch at the Cimarron Chamber of Commerce from Saturday, July 3 through Saturday, July 10, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Look for the club's signs and posters around Cimarron and Philmont Scout Ranch. They hope to broadcast live on Facebook or YouTube during each of the days. Antennas will be suspended high in the nearby trees as well as vertical antennas on the ground.
