Taos Volunteer Fire Department responded on Monday (Feb. 15) around 11 a.m. to a report of a structure fire on Millicent Rogers Road near US-64. The structure on fire was a house just near the north side of El Prado. Smoke could be seen from the north side of town. It took firefighters several hours to combat the blaze, and the Hondo Seco Volunteer Fire Department joined in the effort.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Taos Volunteer Fire Department declined to comment.
