Town council to hear Willa Hotel update

The Monday Lowdown is back, where we let you know each week what is coming up at government and school meetings in Taos County and around the Enchanted Circle.

TUESDAY (Oct. 13): Town of Taos council holds a regular meeting beginning at 4 p.m. to hear presentations from Taos Pueblo Governor's Office regarding a Taos Pueblo Heritage Center and to hear an update on the rebirth of the old Indian Hills Hotel as the Willa Hotel. The town's GIS analyst will provide an update on COVID-19 and the council will consider amending and extending the current public health order requiring masks and other restrictions.

Council also will discuss and vote on a $358,600 contract for the redesign and reconstruction of Taxiway A at the Taos Municipal Airport.

Village of Angel Fire council at a 5:30 p.m. meeting will discuss an ordinance changing a residential zone from R1 to R2 and consider approval of a grant to purchase an Unmanned Aerial System.

Village of Questa will discuss proposed changes to the water and sewer ordinance during a meeting that begins at 6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY (Oct. 14): Taos Municipal Schools board meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be held via Zoom. The board will hear student and staff reports, including information regarding some major budget adjustments for the district, including a $1.54 million operational budget decrease.
