Police Blotter

The following is a condensed list of events that occurred in the town of Taos:

Sept. 14

1:47 a.m. Bleeding, Herdner Road – Caller said a woman was alert and blood squirted out of her upper left arm. Caller said the bleeding was under control with a towel pressed on the bleeding area. Medics transported her to Holy Cross.

8:30 a.m. Assault, Randall Lumber & Hardware – Caller said a woman whom they had a restraining order against punched their car window.

11:30 a.m. Burglary Commercial, Baskin Robbins – Caller said at 1 a.m. someone went into the storage shed and damaged products, then walked off on foot with a stick and backpack.

2:39 p.m. Larceny, Shell – Caller said someone stole his helmet from his motorcycle when he went into the gas station.

Sept. 15

10:41 a.m. Public Health Order Violation, Smith’s – Caller said that customers refused to wear masks inside the store. The caller said they became confrontational.

10:47 a.m. Criminal Damage, Lilli’s Thrift Store – Caller said someone broke into the store last night and stole an iPad and card reader and damaged the door.

6:09 p.m. Larceny, Sagebrush Inn – Caller said someone broke in and took hardware and electronics.

8:50 p.m. Trespassing, Speedway – Caller said a man was told not to drink 4 Lokos outside of the store. Caller said the man got upset and demanded to speak with officers.

Sept. 16

10:41 a.m. Assault, Smith’s Food and Drug Center – Caller said a woman rammed a shopping cart into his truck.

3:58 p.m. Larceny, Blake’s Lotaburger – Caller said someone stole money at Lotaburger.

7:12 p.m. Trespassing, Walmart – Caller said a man had trespassed into the store and left southbound on Paseo del Pueblo Sur. Caller said the man trespasses often.

Sept. 17

6:42 a.m. Graffiti, Kit Carson Park – Caller wanted to report graffiti on the second baseball wall.

2:02 p.m. Disorderly Conduct, Taos County Chamber of Commerce – Caller said a woman camped outside was throwing bottles and yelling slurs. Responders returned after giving her 30 minutes to vacate premises because the caller said she had not left.

10:04 p.m. Criminal Damage, Holy Cross Hospital – Caller said someone punched a window and threatened staff.

Sept. 18

10:16 a.m. Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Paseo Del Pueblo Norte – Caller said his 1978 BMW motorcycle was stolen the previous night.

9:13 a.m. Criminal Damage, Arroyo Seco Community Center – Caller said she saw pictures on Instagram that showed damage to the center. Caller said they spray painted the center red. Caller also said she saw who did it.

2:04 p.m. Shoplifting, Revolt Gallery – Caller said an art piece was stolen from the gallery.

9:37 p.m. Criminal Damage, Bent Street – Caller said that he was at an event when he found a rock was thrown at his windshield.

Sept. 19

10:17 a.m. Theft of Motor Vehicle, Point S Tire and Auto Service – Caller said that his red Hyosung motorcycle was stolen. Caller said that he ran out of gas and left it at the business the previous night and when he went back with gas, it was gone.

11:34 a.m. Breaking and Entering, Herdner Road – Caller said an intoxicated woman banged on her door and threw things at the window.

7:15 p.m. Disturbing the Peace, Revolt Gallery – Caller said the decibels of the music played were above the code for a residential neighborhood. Responders made contact and asked the gallery to keep music at a reasonable tone. Responder said they were at the roadway and could not hear anything.

Sept. 20

4:00 a.m. Trespassing, Santistevan Lane – Caller said there was a man at her residence that cussed her out and would not let her sleep.

4:09 p.m. Shoplifting, Smith’s Food and Drug Center – Caller said a man with a black shirt and glasses took a bunch of items in a basket.

10:55 p.m. Larceny, Reed Lane – Caller said that someone stole his chainsaw from behind his truck. Caller said that he last saw the chainsaw a few hours prior and it has a value of $800.
