Missing Taos boy found safe

Jesse Tafoya, a 14-year-old Hispanic male from Taos who was reported missing by police earlier this week, has been found safe, according to an update from New Mexico State Police.

Tafoya is a student at Taos Middle School, but had not appeared for classes since April 1.

Police suspected he might have run away, but did not know the direction he might have headed in.

An updated press release did not provide further detail, but only stated "Jesse Tafoya has been located and is safe."

Information regarding other missing people should be submitted to New Mexico State Police at (575) 758-8878 at option 1, or by dialing 911.
