Let's state the obvious, Rosa the 25-lb. terrier mix is just adorable. She's been in foster care for a while working on her socialization skills and having all sorts of new experiences. This beauty can be a little shy when she meets a new person, but with patience she shares the reward of playfulness and lots of joy. Rosa does great with other dogs and get this ... she likes cats too! Her ideal home would have a friendly dog companion, lots of soft beds for her to take naps on, tasty treats and a secure yard for her to play in.

Our efforts to reduce the average length of stay are paying off. One year ago our average LOS for dogs was 260 days, we are now down to 33. Mostly that is due to the efforts of our team to rehabilitate the long-term dogs with the Fear Free shelter methods to get them to the point where they can be adoptable. Then we market them aggressively to find homes. The RTO rate has improved tremendously due to social media, radio PSAs and flyers.

Puppies are starting to pour in again. We got 19 in one day last week. The upgrade to our puppy room finished just in time.

Our next vaccine clinic is scheduled for May 8, 1-4 p.m.
