Not Forgotten Outreach, the Taos-based veterans organization, hosted a free "pandemic pumpkin giveaway" Saturday (Oct. 17) at the NFO Wellness Center in Taos.

"Like many of the businesses and organizations in the Taos community, NFO has felt the presence of the coronavirus pandemic and its effects," said NFO Executive Director Don Peters, who held the fall festival “in an attempt to lift the spirits of our community members.”

At the drive-through event, each motorist was invited to select a pumpkin from a trailer filled with hundreds. Peters said the nonprofit donates all of the vegetables grown by VetCorps at the farm to the Taos Farm-to-School program and local food pantries.
