Award-winning author, journalist, healing practitioner and spiritual mentor Dana Micucci moved to Taos to reinvent herself when she turned 50.
She has, and in the process she is also helping other people discover and recognize their talents and inner strengths.
Today, Micucci keeps a busy private practice. She defines herself as “a guide” rather than “a guru.”
“I don’t tell people what to do, but offer them a road map to approach their spiritual path,” she said. “Once they are able to release their limiting beliefs, they can embark on a new life journey with more clarity and focus.”
Micucci, who trained with many notable teachers, conducts her healing work both in person at her Taos sanctuary and at a distance.
Her healing sessions incorporate different modalities. Choosing one depends on people’s needs and goals, determined after an initial, free consultation with Micucci.
“This first consultation helps bring to light issues that we will deal with during the session,” she said. “For example, in a shamanic soul retrieval I focus on healing trauma that has been part of people’s lives through several lifetimes. I am intuitively guided to integrate soul parts that have been splintered. We all carry some kind of trauma from previous incarnations, which often affects our present lives in one way or another.”
Micucci also offers spiritual counseling as well as Reconnection and Reconnective Healing, a form of energy healing that she said “helps her clients move back into balance and increase their vibration for healing and personal development.”
At the beginning of a shamanic healing session, Micucci uses a shamanic rattle and a feather — she acquired both in New Mexico.
“I use the feather to clear the energy field of my client and the rattle, which I shake while walking around the person lying on the healing table, to put myself in an altered state,” Micucci said. “Hopefully, my client will entrain with me in that altered state. This allows me to travel through different dimensions to gather information during the soul retrieval.”
While the session takes place, her clients are still aware, but in a semi-asleep state.
“It is like a hypnotic state,” Micucci said. “We basically move from the left brain, our very concrete, logical side, into the right brain, where we have access to our intuition and higher levels of information.”
Soul retrievals are among Micucci’s more popular healing sessions. Two of her clients shared with The Taos News their personal experiences with this modality.
“After her work, my body began to vibrate so strongly,” said Lisa Jacobs of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. “A minor illness was gone when I woke the next day. The anxiety in my chest was gone. Dana discussed past experiences that gave perspective to some current issues I had been experiencing. I felt different, more confident in my connection to God. What an improvement she’s made on my outlook on life. It’s been a true blessing.”
“Since the soul retrieval work we did, it’s feeling so good to be getting my power back,” said Catherine Norman of San Francisco, California. “I keep thinking of the gifts from our session and gaining strength each time I picture them. It’s wonderful. Synchronicity is showing up a lot. I’m feeling more complete, and I’m getting a lot of those ‘aha’ moments as I remember things from my past.”
Micucci has designed several kinds of mentorship programs. One is “Divine Life: A Woman’s Guide to Your Own True Power,” where mentees go through seven inner initiations under her guidance.
“I help them dispel confusion, unleash their hidden gifts and talents, reconnect with their spiritual core, and instantly tap into higher meaning, guidance and support, and much more,” she said.
She also offers “Awakening the Mystic Within: A Course in Self Mastery for Higher Living,” which consists of 12 MP3 audio recordings 90 to 120 minutes long with esoteric content, experiential practices and energy transmissions from the mystical wisdom of the ages.
The self-study audio course is based on her many years of spiritual exploration and practice and travels to sacred sites.
Micucci’s books “Sojourns of the Soul: One Woman’s Journey around the World and into Her Truth,” a spiritual travel memoir that won a gold medal in the 2013 Nautilus Book Awards, and her new novel “The Third Muse,” a metaphysical, time-travel mystery celebrating the healing power of love, have become catalysts for her talks and workshops.
“I weave together threads of truth and experiential practices from diverse wisdom and spiritual traditions,” she said. “My books, and the workshops based on them, have one main theme: transformation of the self at the deepest level. They inspire people to strip away all previously limiting beliefs and step into their true essence and power.”
As an extension of “Sojourns of the Soul,” and drawing from more than two decades of traveling around the world, Micucci also offers personal energy readings and written reports to guide people to where their soul needs to be.
“My travels have taken me to the sacred sits of Egypt, Peru, Tibet, Cambodia, the Yucatan, Australia and many others,” she said. “Embarking on your personally designed sacred journey will create magical openings for mystical initiations, unexpected encounters and life-altering energetic shifts.”
She gives personalized energy readings and sacred site recommendations that are designed to bring more clarity to people’s mission and purpose in their present lives.
“I can recommend a journey to a specific sacred site that resonates with your energy as well as suggestions on how to prepare for and visit these sites for an optimal experience,” she said. “My tips cover everything from what to expect energetically, what to look for once you are there, and how to travel with an open mind.”
“All my work comes from the heart and carries a healing vibration,” Micucci said. “My aim is to inspire people to ignite and accelerate a fearless journey toward wholeness. We are all fellow travelers here, and we can work together to create heaven on earth.”
