Taos ramps up testing efforts

Vault Health's home test kits for COVID-19 should return a result in 24 to 48 hours.

The town of Taos is ramping up it’s COVID testing efforts, and will be offering free drive-through testing every Wednesday in February, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Taos Youth and Family Center parking lot, 407 Paseo del Cañon East. The town is also offering free at-home saliva tests for anyone who feels they may need one and doesn’t want to leave their house.

The drive-through test is a self-administered saliva test and the results will be available by text or email within 48 to 72 hours.

People wishing to get tested at the drive-through need to register online. Schedule a date and time to test by visiting curative.com, then search for "Taos" under the "Testing Sites" link.

To order an at-home saliva test, go to learn.vaulthealth.com/nm. The tests will be sent and received via mail and results will be available 24-48 hours after the lab receives it.

To register to receive the vaccine, go to vaccinenm.org, create a profile, then the New Mexico Department of Health will reach out when it's time to schedule an appointment.
