The New Mexico Department of Health reported 972 new cases of COVID-19 in the state on Friday (Oct. 8), including 13 new cases in Taos County.
The total number of cases in Taos County currently stands at 2,272. One new death has been reported – a male in his 40's who was hospitalized with underlying conditions, bringing the total number of fatalities connected to the disease to 62.
Statewide, a total of 258,943 cases have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic, with 228,486 recoveries, according to NMDOH. A total of 349 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19 as of Oct. 8. The current number of deaths across the state is 4,854.
