Teachers pick up their breakfasts prepared by the Taos School Zone in October.

The Taos School Zone has been serving Taos teachers a "thank you" breakfast twice a year for several years. The fruit, doughnuts, granola and yogurt are a small way for the School Zone volunteers to show their support for our teachers.

Because of COVID-19, the regular breakfasts were canceled this fall. However, the volunteers thought that teachers needed the community support even more this year. So they called all the schools and arranged to drop-off breakfast goodies at schools where teachers were working in their classrooms.

This fall, masked and socially distanced school personnel picked up breakfasts from volunteers at Taos High School on Oct. 20 and at Anansi Charter School on Oct. 30. The Taos School Zone was able to serve teachers in nine schools.
