Taos Air takes a season hiatus

Taos Ski Valley announced another restriction to the mountain resort today as the company canceled its Taos Air operations for the winter season.

Beginning in 2018, Taos Air has provided flights from several regional areas in the Southwest, namely from Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas and Austin, directly to the Taos Regional Airport.

In years past, the flights directly to Taos have provided such amenities as shuttle service to the resort and inclusive ski packages. However, in a statement on social media, Taos Ski Valley said that it had to make “the difficult decision to suspend Taos Air through the entirety of this winter season.”

The statement went on to say that because of the ski valley's B Corp ethos – which involves partaking in the local community – it has acknowledged the reality that “the uncertainty of current and future travel restrictions to New Mexico made it impossible to deliver a reliable Taos Air service this year.”

This news comes just after Taos Ski Valley recently announced an increase in season pass prices to combat the high numbers of visitors during the pandemic.
