An unidentified suspect allegedly robbed Yu Garden restaurant, 1033 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, at gunpoint just before 9 p.m. Monday night (Aug. 28), according to reports from Taos Police Department.

Taos Central Dispatch call logs indicate that the robbery took place around 8:50 p.m. – just before closing time.

A caller reported that an unidentified individual wearing dark clothing and a “white hood” entered the restaurant and brandished a revolver. The suspect then took an unspecified amount of cash from the register, according to the report, before fleeing on foot.

“There were no injuries and no suspect has been identified or arrested,” said Detective Barry Holfelder.

Holfelder later added that there was no surveillance footage that captured the event, making it difficult to positively identify a suspect.
