Dancing to the drums: 32nd Annual Taos Pueblo Pow-Wow

Posted

A nearly full moon shed light on the opening evening of the 32nd annual Taos Pueblo Powwow Friday (July 7) and rain showers blessed the second day of the event Saturday, which attracted hundreds of dancers and thousands of spectators.

A total of 15 drum groups kept the beat and the songs going for dancers throughout the days and into the nights.

Rain cleared in the evening and fireworks lit up the night after the competition dances were finished Saturday. Dancing continued on Sunday (July 9).
