Taos Ski Valley kicked off its summer schedule June 23 with a slate of events and offerings.
Summer scenic chair rides will run on Lift 4 near The Bavarian Lodge & Restaurant and will operate on a daily basis through Sept. 4, running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. After Labor Day the lift will operate on the weekends through Oct. 8 with the same 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours of operation. This 15-minute lift ride offers vast views of Wheeler Peak, Kachina Peak, vibrant wildflowers amid refreshing cool temps. Lift tickets are available at the base of Lift 4 or can be purchased in advance at skitaos.com. Last season pass holders (2016-17) ride the chair free this summer, just show your pass.
For a more aerobic excursion, take a hike to Williams Lake with a stop at The Bavarian Lodge & Restaurant. This unique alpine experience offers guests views of Kachina Peak and features German cuisine unlike anything you will find in the West. The Bavarian Lodge & Restaurant also began daily operations June 23. Lunch service starts at 11:30 a.m. and dinner service at 5:30 p.m..
Taos Ski Valley will also be ramping up its summer events with a bevy of family-friendly activities. Brand new events like the Mutt Strut: 5K Dog Fun Run on July 1, Bacon & Brews Festival on July 22 and the Summer Wine Festival on Aug. 18 will complement Taos Ski Valley summertime staples like the Up & Over 10K Trail Run on Aug. 5, the Taos Ski Valley Arts Festival on Aug. 12-13, and the annual Oktoberfest Celebration on Sept.16.
