Starbucks Coffee shop opens in Taos

Specials offered during opening week

The Starbucks Coffee shop opened to the public Monday morning (Jan. 29) inside the Albertsons Market at 710A Paseo del Pueblo Sur.

Manager Lisa Bernal said she is "really excited. We've been waiting for it since October." She said the staff trained for two weeks learning how to make drinks, going over all the corporation rules and, most importantly, focusing on customer service "to get our community here."

This week, they are having two specials: A free grande drink with the purchase of a sandwich, and a grande drink for $2. In addition to coffee, the shop will also be selling sandwiches, pastries and other snack items.

Why do we need a corporate coffee shop in a Town with so many wonderful locally owned choices?!?!?

I will always shop & frequent small, local stores over corporate entities. Yuck!
