The Carson National Forest isn't the only forest going through its once-in-a-generation management plan revision. The Rio Grande National Forest, which covers nearly 2 million acres in the San Luis Valley just north of the New Mexico-Colorado border, will be hosting three public meetings between Nov. 2 and 9.
Information on the meetings is available at https://goo.gl/MZNvCq.
The 90-day comment period on the forest's draft forest plan and environmental impact statement began in late September and will end on Dec. 29.
The Carson National Forest anticipates opening a public comment period on a draft forest plan in early 2018.
