Cadet Angel Andres Reyes Jr., son of Angel and Deanna Reyes, graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) with a Bachelor of Science degree on May 27.

While at West Point, he concentrated his studies in systems engineering. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Infantry branch. He will report to Fort Benning, Georgia, to begin Pre-Ranger School training on July 7. Upon successful completion of that training, he will begin the U.S. Army Ranger School, followed by the Basic Officer Leadership Infantry Course. Reyes is assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Infantry, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Reyes earned Airborne qualification while attending West Point. Reyes was the 132-pound National Collegiate Boxing runner-up in 2015.

Reyes' 2017 class motto, "So Others May Dream," was created during the initial six weeks at West Point. The U.S. Military Academy is a four-year co-educational, federal undergraduate liberal arts college located 50 miles north of New York City. Founded in 1802 as America's first college of engineering, it consistently ranks as one of the top colleges in the nation. A pre-eminent leader development institution, its mission remains to educate, train and inspire cadets for careers of professional service to the Army and the nation.
