The following is a condensed version of Taos Police Department reports from Feb. 7-12.
7:10 a.m. Harassment, Taos Post Office, 318 Paseo del Pueblo Norte – Two or three people were being very irate. Postal workers had asked them to leave, but they were refusing.
7:53 a.m. Welfare check, Vista Grande High School – A man was lying on the other side of the fence in the arroyo between the two schools.
8:39 a.m. Fraud-forgery, Super Save – A customer paid with a counterfeit $10 dollar bill, but said they didn’t know where it had come from.
8:43 a.m. Larceny, Holy Cross Hospital – The caller said they had $200 stolen sometime on Monday or Tuesday. They said their daughter had left the money in a purse in a rented vehicle in the parking lot.
8:52 a.m. Larceny, Taos Police Department – A walk-in said that some bracelets, rings and earrings had been stolen.
10:07 a.m. Abandoned vehicle, Taos Youth and Family Center – The caller said there was a blue Mustang in the dirt with the trunk open.
11:30 a.m. Assault, Sun God Lodge – A guest was throwing rocks at a motel worker.
12:10 a.m. Agency assistance, Fred Baca Park – A waste management worker had pulled someone over who had been driving without a tarp on their truck and was throwing trash all over.
1:20 p.m. Drug dealing, Sun God Lodge – The caller said that the maintenance guy was trafficking heroin and methamphetamine. They said his girlfriend is a known drug user and drives a blue car that had just pulled up to the room.
1:33 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Albertsons – A tall Hispanic man with a shaved head was trying to get into vehicles parked on the side of the grocery store.
5:51 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons – Two women were putting makeup in their purses.
7:05 p.m. Welfare check, Taos Council Chambers – The caller said there was a hot-topic meeting happening. They wanted someone to stand by and keep the peace.
8:11 p.m. Welfare check, World Cup – The caller wanted an officer to call the women’s shelter to see if they could take in a woman for the night.
1:38 a.m. Domestic disturbance, Montoya Street – The caller said that a man had just beaten her up. She said she was trying to drive away “for her life.”
9:52 a.m. Animal stray, Blumenschein Street – The caller said there was a white dog roaming the neighborhood that almost attacked her when she was taking out the trash.
6:25 p.m. Criminal damage, Shell gas station, 1137 Paseo del Pueblo Sur – A man in a dark-colored jacket was breaking a window on a vehicle. The caller said there was someone inside the vehicle.
10:03 p.m. Disturbing the peace, Mariposa Lane – The caller said their upstairs neighbors were being loud. She had asked them to quiet it down, but they refused. The caller had a child in the home that was trying to sleep.
10:35 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Roberts Lane – Someone was trying to break into a car across the street.
11:33 p.m. Alcohol offense adult, Allsup’s, 507 Paseo del Pueblo Norte – The caller said that two men were drunk in a green Ford truck. They were trying to fight a customer for no reason.
1 a.m. Disturbing the peace, Deal Lane – The caller said it sounded like a party was going on in the warehouse across the street from the Eagle’s Club.
11:23 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Walmart – The caller said he found a purse and a license plate in the bed of his truck.
11:48 a.m. Larceny, Cordoba Lane – The caller wanted to report larceny at their home. They said that someone had stolen jewelry, including a pearl necklace.
12:42 p.m. Assault, Dea Lane – A man had choked another man in the area sometime during the night.
1:36 p.m. Theft of motor vehicle, Albertsons – The caller said his vehicle was stolen, but then revised his report when he found that someone had just driven it behind the grocery store.
1:39 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Community Against Violence – The caller said they needed an officer right away to deal with a disruptive woman who was becoming violent.
3:37 p.m. Explosion, Five Star Burger – A 30-year-old man was working in the kitchen when a grill exploded. The man said he heard a loud bang and then started experiencing chest pains.
5:51 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Calle Conquistador – The caller said she had sold a car to a man who was refusing to pay her.
6:53 p.m. Alcohol offense adult, Five Star Burger – A highly intoxicated woman was leaving the restaurant, driving a silver Toyota Prius.
8:31 p.m. Public affray, Pizza Hut – The caller said there were three individuals fighting in the back.
8:51 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Holy Cross Hospital – The caller said they had just discharged someone from a room and found something in a bag that looked like heroin.
9:11 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Paseo del Cañon – The caller said they could hear someone walking around on their roof.
1:36 p.m. Welfare check, Gusdorf Place – The caller wanted to report a woman who was possibly overdosing. The caller said she thought the woman could be dying.
8:49 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Camino de la Merced – The caller said a blacked out truck was parked across from Towing Unlimited that had four to five people in it. They wanted an officer to check out what they were doing.
11:27 a.m. Law, unknown problem, Bent Museum – The caller said a man with long hair was trying to attack a woman. They said this man had been living there and had been urinating all over the museum.
11:33 a.m. Assault, Ledoux Street – The caller said she had received a death threat from an unknown individual.
12:05 p.m. DUI alcohol or drugs, Allsup’s, 507 Paseo del Pueblo Norte – A man driving a green Ford truck with bullet holes in it had been making threats to shoot up Blake’s Lota Burger on the north side.
4:40 p.m. Shots fired, Peralta Road – The caller said they had heard three shots fired within the last minute.
5:15 p.m. Animal abuse, Challup’s Pizza – A man wearing a black coat carrying a guitar was seen kicking a dog.
10:25 a.m. Property found, DreamTree Project – The caller said they had found stolen property from Wired Café in one of their residences: two big bags of coffee beans.
12:32 p.m. Burglary commercial, Taos Municipal Landfill – The caller wanted to speak to an officer regarding a break-in that occurred on Friday. They said they have security footage of the break-in.
1:19 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, La Lomita Road – The caller advised that a suspicious man was carrying a large brown canvas duffel bag.
2:13 p.m. Lockout, Cuchilla Road – The caller said they had locked their keys in their car. They said that their small child was in the car, too.
2:23 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Seco Lane – The caretaker of a home in the area said that someone was sleeping on the porch in a sleeping bag.
2:57 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Kit Carson Park – A guy driving a four-wheeler near the stage had apparently broken down.
3:16 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons – A man with a shaved head had just stolen two bottles of alcohol.
3:33 p.m. Narcotics offense juvenile, Taos Academy – The caller reported that someone was possibly in possession of drugs.
4:19 p.m. Trespassing, Mary Medina Building – There were some teenagers climbing on the building, trying to get to the roof.
5:22 p.m. Harassment, Kit Carson Road – The caller said a man was threatening her via text message.
6:41 p.m. Fire, wildland, Camino del Medio – Grass and tumbleweeds were on fire across from the old Fridays.
