Pipeline update: crews move south of Pilar

Posted

Contractors hired by New Mexico Natural Gas Company are currently finishing installation of the natural gas pipeline near mile marker 29, according to Tim Korte, spokesperson for the gas company.

The construction zone will soon move farther to the south. "In preparation, workers have repositioned concrete barriers on State Road 68, and they are currently staging pipeline along the road south of the Río Grande Gorge Visitor Center," Korte said. Once those sections are welded, excavation and installation will follow.
