Sonya Luz Costanza and Chula Ross Sanchez will give a presentation of photos and stories of their recent trip to the Peruvian Andes and the Kusi Kawsay Indigenous School in Pisac, Peru, Friday (Oct. 20), from 5-7 p.m. at Philip Bareiss Gallery in Taos.
The event will feature traditional music by the founders of the school, refreshments, as well as pre-holiday sales of Peruvian textiles, crafts and gifts. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Waldorf-inspired indigenous school and a donor will match all donations.
The Kusi Kawsay School is a sister school to the former Taos Waldorf School and utilizes Waldorf pedagogy to guide children into the future through ancient wisdom of traditional Andean cultural practices. To learn more about the school, visit kusikawsay.org or call Costanza at (575) 758-8007.
Philip Bareiss Gallery is located at 15 State Road 150 (next to to KTAOS Solar Radio).
