Election Bureau Chief Daniel Ivey-Soto left his post with the Secretary of State's office Friday (March 7), leaving Daniel Miera, the former assistant town manager in Taos, to take over the post only months before the primary election.
Ivey-Soto resigned his position with the expectation that he would be appointed to judgeship in Albuquerque.
Miera took the job as Election Administrator in January after serving as the first assistant manager in Taos for seven months.
Miera's inexperience with running elections has raised concerns with several state officials.
